Sudden physical decline and vigilance against heart failure

Surveys show that the estimated number of heart failure patients in China exceeds 10 million. One in 10 people over the age of 70 may have heart failure. More than half of people over 75 years old have diastolic heart failure, especially women. However, due to the low prevalence of heart failure knowledge and the general lack of basic knowledge, many patients missed the best opportunity for diagnosis and treatment. Professor Xu Dingli, director of the Heart Failure Center of Southern Hospital of Southern Medical University, reminded us that if we suffer from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, we suddenly find that our physical strength has dropped sharply for a period of time, we will feel short of breath and panic when we move, and even suffer from foot edema. This is likely to prompt the occurrence of heart failure, so we must seek medical examination as soon as possible.
Three major signals indicate that heart failure should be checked in time
Xu Dingli introduced that the heart is like a "water pump" that continuously pumps blood out and through the arteries to all organs of the body. Heart failure occurs when the heart of a patient with heart failure fails to pump blood, which is like a "leather ball" with reduced elasticity. The output of blood cannot meet the needs of the body's metabolism.
Xu Dingli said that in the early stage of heart failure, some patients tend to show shortness of breath and poor physical strength. For example, exercise tolerance declines in recent periods, and many patients will be out of breath after a few minutes of exercise. Some patients with heart failure sometimes sleep until midnight and feel breathless and cough when lying down, they need to sit up or add an extra pillow to support their body to a semi-sitting state. In addition, some patients suffer from persistent edema, such as swelling of feet and ankles or weight gain, which may be caused by heart failure.
"Generally speaking, the most common symptoms of heart failure are Qi deficiency and fatigue, difficulty in lying down and breathing, and edema of limbs. The life of patients is very affected. If these symptoms occur, patients are advised to pay attention to them, and early screening is related to heart failure. Xu Dingli emphasized.
Patients with cardiovascular diseases should be alert to cold in winter
Xu Dingli said, "If patients with heart failure do not receive timely treatment, the symptoms of heart failure will become more and more serious, and most of them will bring irreversible damage to the heart. Patients should pay attention to early screening, early diagnosis and early treatment, and seek treatment at heart failure centers or cardiovascular specialists. Examination of electrocardiogram and biomarker BNP/NTproBNP can help to diagnose heart failure. Generally speaking, as long as the diagnosis and treatment are timely, most patients with early chronic heart failure can control their condition through drugs under the professional guidance of doctors. The sooner patients receive treatment, the better the effect, improve the quality of life at the same time, but also reduce the burden of disease.
In addition, heart failure is a progressive disease, which will naturally continue to worsen without treatment, and there are few drugs to block its progress. At present, in winter, with the gradual decrease of temperature, people with cardiovascular diseases should strengthen prevention in cold and warm alternation or high incidence of influenza, and try to avoid the occurrence of cold or influenza, especially pulmonary infection. It is also a common cause of heart failure in patients with cardiovascular diseases.
A history of myocardial infarction requires more blood pressure and pulse
Xu Dingli pointed out that heart failure is a serious or terminal disease of almost all cardiovascular diseases. Poor management of chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease, hypertension, cardiomyopathy and diabetes can lead to heart failure. Heart failure caused by coronary heart disease and hypertension accounted for more than 2/3. The risk of heart failure in patients with myocardial infarction is greatly increased.
That is to say, coronary heart disease, hypertension, cardiomyopathy and diabetes are the main causes of heart failure. If you suffer from these chronic diseases, it is basically a high-risk group of heart failure. Patients with coronary heart disease or hypertension, especially those with previous myocardial infarction, should learn to use electronic sphygmomanometer to measure their blood pressure and pulse, record well, do regular electrocardiogram examination, pay more attention to heart health care. People with family history of cardiomyopathy should pay attention to the symptoms of heart failure. "If the heart rate suddenly accelerates, excluding diseases such as cold and fever, such as 15 to 20 times per minute faster than usual, then we must be highly vigilant, uncomfortable to see a doctor at any time."
Xu Dingli also stressed that in the prevention of inducements, people at high risk of heart failure must be vigilant against cold, arrhythmia, emotional excitement, mental tension, pregnancy or childbirth, excessive infusion, too fast and sudden withdrawal of drugs and other factors leading to heart failure, and must not be taken lightly.
Pay attention to these details in daily life to prevent heart failure
Xu Dingli said that patients with cardiovascular diseases should also stay away from unhealthy lifestyles, eat as low as possible, avoid excessive drinking of water, and exercise moderately. Heart failure patients can monitor and design their own exercise program by walking fast for 6 minutes under the guidance of doctors. Generally speaking, walking and brisk walking are more suitable for patients with heart failure. Exercises with high intensity and strong antagonism, such as balls, are not suitable.
It is worth noting that diabetics should also strictly control blood sugar, pay more attention to light diet, control weight, eat less and eat more meals, because full meals may also cause heart failure.
