[Heat-dissipating fan 220V] Fan noise should be paid attention to
1. System Impedance
The range between the inlet and outlet of a chassis accounts for 60% to 80% of the total system impedance. In addition, the larger the airflow, the higher the noise. The higher the system impedance is, the greater the air flow required for cooling. Therefore, in order to minimize noise, the system impedance must be reduced to a minimum.
2. Air Disturbance
Noise is generated by disturbances caused by obstructions along airflow paths. Therefore, any obstruction, especially in the critical range of intake and outlet, must be avoided in order to reduce noise.
3. Fan speed and size
Because the high-speed fan produces more noise than the low-speed fan, the low-speed fan should be tried and selected as far as possible. A fan with larger size and lower speed is usually quieter than a fan with lower size and higher speed when conveying the same amount of air.
4. Increase in temperature
In a system, the amount of air required for cooling is inversely proportional to the allowable temperature rise. If the allowable temperature rise is slightly increased, the required air volume can be greatly reduced. Therefore, if the restriction on the imposed allowable temperature rise is slightly relaxed, the required air volume and noise can be reduced.
